OCHCP Key Accomplishments
  1. In 2005, OCHCP began offering eDocAmerica, an online medical information service and telephonic nurse line, to members at a discounted rate for use by employees and their dependants.
  2. In 2002/2003 OCHCP played a key role along, with Boeing International Association of Machinists employees and members, in promoting the Leapfrog Project for compliance with patient safety measures within Oregon hospitals.
  3. OCHCP started the Oregon Health Care Quality Corporation in 2002 to serve as a neutral body to spearhead initiatives related to quality improvement.
  4. In 2003, OCHCP was the key sponsor of legislation creating the Oregon Patient Safety Commission.
  5. OCHCP developed and implemented the breast cancer and diabetes projects through the Portland Medical Outcomes Consortium (working with the Foundation for Accountability [FAACT]) in 1999-mid 2000.
  6. In 1999 and 2000, OCHCP developed a core RFP for use by members. A new one will be developed in 2005 that includes quality measures.
  7. A number of valuable conferences have been hosted by OCHCP. 
They include:
    • Safer Health Care – Better Results; Connecting the Dots…Quality, Safety, Systems, Outcomes, and Costs; May 8, 2003
    • Value-Based Health Care Purchasing; September 30, 2003
    • Focus on Solutions – A one day conference on improving worker health and productivity; September 12, 2002
    • Bringing Solutions to the Workplace; November 21, 2002
